Trail Clean-up Day:

Trail Clean-up Day is Saturday, October 24, 2020. We will be assisting the Northwoods Passage with brushing, clearing and trail clean-up on this day. We will meet at the Northwoods Riders Club Garage (2642 Co Rd L, Tomahawk, WI 54487) at 9:00am. There will be a quick instructional session, and then groups will form to head out and work sections of trail. Please bring your ATV/UTV, chainsaws, tree trimmers, mauls, loppers, garbage bags, etc. If you bring your ATV on a trailer, don't unload right away...some groups may travel and unload quite a ways from the club garage. Following the day’s work, there will be a gathering in the pavilion at Prairie Rapids Tavern. Prairie Rapids is donating a ¼ barrel of beer and the club will be providing chili. Please note: The Club will not be reimbursing workers for lunch purchased elsewhere.

Northwoods Riders Youth Snowmobile Club:

Dale Elliott will work on establishing a Northwoods Riders Youth Snowmobile Club again this year. If anyone is interested in assisting with the area youth please contact either Mark McDonald or Dale Elliott. Unfortunately the youth ride that was scheduled in early March, 2020 did not happen due to inclement weather but we hope to get out there this year to enjoy the beautiful north woods!

Pontoon Palooza:

The Northwoods Riders Pontoon Palooza held in July went well! There were 339 stamp sheets sold compared to 504 last year. All 150 raffle tickets were sold. Darin and Aimee at Boomba Bar sold T-shirts advertising the Pontoon Palooza event and donated $1,000 back to the Northwoods Riders at the September meeting! Old Budweiser performed which was provided by The Landing. The club sold 50/50 raffle tickets. Big thank you to Chetek Wenker who did a great job selling those tickets! Jeff Felkowski had a food truck at The Landing and donated $92.00 back to the club as well! Tilted Loon participated in the pontoon contest with club volunteers judging the boats. Thank you to all the volunteers and businesses! An event like this isn’t possible without your help and generosity!

Membership Totals:

We currently have 293 members in our club with 13 new members. We had one new member at the meeting tonight. Welcome Jamie McDonald!

Just a reminder, your club dues must be paid and processed before you can obtain reduced fee trail passes. Please be aware that your AWSC number will not be immediately renewed when you pay your Northwoods Riders club dues. When our members pay dues, we have to batch them together and submit them to AWSC (along with payment). We generally send at least one batch each week – especially at this time of year. It can then take AWSC up to 2 weeks to process our submitted renewals (but they typically get it done in less than a week). Once AWSC has completed the work on their end, your membership is updated to active and you are able to order discount trail passes.

Free Memberships for 2020/2021:

Names were drawn from all members who had their renewals paid by the meeting on September 28th. The winners are: Steve Senger, Steve Brinkman, David Webster, Jerry Fox, Julie Eberle, Dennis Theilman, Ray Skolaski, Jordan Kriesel, Keith Snearly, and Bob Bell.

The door prize gift certificate to Thirsty Giraffe was won by Chris Schultz.
The 50/50 raffle was won by Kurt Bernarde in the amount of $125.00
The emergency flashing lights were won by Steve Borem.

Snowmobile Safety Class:

The DNR has approved hosting a safety class this year. Suggested class size is 25. We will advertise the class to our local community first before it is posted on the DNR website to allow local students a chance to attend. It is possible instructors could offer a second class if the first one fills up quickly due to a limited number of classes being offered by the state. The first class could be held on December 5th. Details to follow.

Club Stickers:

Reflective club stickers are available for a $1.00 donation. If you would like a sticker, please pick one up at the monthly meeting or reach out to us at

Club Website:

Mark is looking for a club member to take over the management of the website for the coming year. This would involve 60 to 90 minutes per month to do the necessary updates. If you are interested, please let Mark know.

Club Officers:

Voting for club officers will take place at our October 26, 2020 meeting. This meeting will be held at the Tilted Loon Saloon beginning at 7:00pm. There are 4 positions being voted on this year; Vice President, Treasurer, and 2 Board of Director Positions which will be determined by the two highest numbers of votes.
