Here are a couple of good news updates about this year’s Pontoon Palooza on Lake Nokomis. First, Sattler’s Landing Bar has decided to move forward with a party to end the day of fun on the water. There will be a band (Older Budweiser), a food truck and beer will be served outside. Plans are for the band to begin playing around 4:00pm. The raffle and stamp sheet drawings will not take place at the Landing on the 18th…they will still be drawn on the 21st at the club garage.
And…The Tilted Loon has decided to hold a “BEST BOAT THEME” contest. Boats and passengers will be judged for creativity in decoration and attire. More details will follow, but the plan is to have boats that wish to participate stop at the Loon to obtain a number sometime before the judging, which will take place between Noon and 2:00pm on the 18th. Displaying the number obtained at the Loon, participating boats will be asked to drive under the bridges at County L between Noon and 2:00. Then, at 2:30 at the Tilted Loon, winners will be announced. Prizes will be awarded – so bring your A-game! Those not wishing to participate may still want to gather around the area to see the creativity of other fellow pontooners.
Please check back here for more updates as many other on-water establishments are also developing ideas for some Summer Fun as part of the Pontoon Palooza 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 concerns, CDC, State and County guidelines we have made some changes to this year’s event. $100 Raffle Tickets are available at area establishment or by contacting the club. Grand Prize is $2500 and 14 total prizes will be awarded. Stamp Sheets for the Pontoon Run will be available from 3 starting points; Twin Bay, Boomba Bar and The Landing Bar. Stamp sheets will be available on June 15 this year – a month ahead of the event date. Stamps can be collected any time with sheets being turned back in to one of the start points by July 18, 2020. Stamp Sheet payouts have been increased to $1500! Drawing will be held at 6:00pm on July 21, 2020 at the Northwoods Riders Club Garage located at R2642 County Road L, Tomahawk, WI 54487. Participants need not be present to win prizes. Participants may attend the drawing if they wish and we are working on an option to live-stream the drawing via the internet. Winners will be contacted and arrangements made to deliver prizes.
Unfortunately, the party under the tent at the Landing will not be part of this year’s run. The club decided that there is not a safe and responsible way to hold an event of this size while adhering to “Social Distancing” and CDC guidelines.
We are working with on-water establishments to develop alternative entertainment ideas.

Each summer the Northwoods Riders Snowmobile Club hosts the Pontoon Palooza in the Lake Nokomis area. This event has been an annual tradition for over 25 years and grows bigger and better nearly every year. As the only fundraiser conducted by the club, it is an important event for us, but is also a very popular local event for the community. Held the third Saturday in July each year, the event is fun for everyone. There is a stamp-run that involves stopping at area businesses to have a card stamped, then turning the sheet in for a chance to win $1000+ in prizes via a drawing. Additionally, $100 raffle tickets are sold in the weeks prior to the event, with a cash drawing held at the party on Saturday – the Grand Prize is $2500! Many participants enjoy collecting their stamps from the water on their pontoon boats – the decorated boats and themes displayed are incredible! In fact, there is a $100 prize for best theme given away at the party too! A live band provides entertainment and food and beverages are available from club volunteers. Anyone can attend the party and stamp sheets can be collected by car, atv, bike or boat.
